BUILDING CAPACITY OF
BANGLADESH FURNITURE
INDUSTRIES OWNERS’ ASSOCIATION
Background: A first of its kind collaborative project for the then burgeoning furniture manufacturers of this country. The sole objective was to help the small-scale furniture manufacturers discover the power of technology and train to elevate their design quality and increase the production capacity.
Major Activities: Wood Seasoning, Chair-Dining Table-Wardrobe-Bed-Chest of Drawer-Sofa Manufacturing, Lacquer Finish, Trigger Machine Usage, Understanding the Machines and Tools required for a small furniture factory and their cost involvements, Modern Furniture Factory Management & Security System Development

Total Training Sessions: 66
Participants: 4006 from 524 SMEs
Implementation Areas: Key districts of the country like Sylhet, Barisal, Khulna, Noakhali, Rajshahi, Chittagong, Bolirhath, Bogra, Dhaka (Sutrapur, Mirpur, Gulshan)
